Booster sessions are planned during summer at the end of July-August specifically designed for Year 5 students appearing for their 11-plus exams this year. Please see the details below.
The Importance of 11+ Booster Sessions
These booster sessions are an invaluable opportunity to provide your child with the focused revision and practice they need to excel in their upcoming exams. Here’s why these sessions are essential:
- Focused Revision: These sessions will provide targeted revision in key areas such as English, Maths, Verbal Reasoning, and Non-Verbal Reasoning, helping to reinforce understanding and address any knowledge gaps.
- Confidence Building: Through regular practice and guided instruction, the aim is to boost your child’s confidence, helping to reduce exam anxiety and improve performance.
- Time Management: Students will learn effective time management skills, crucial for handling the time constraints of the 11+ exams, and practice under timed conditions to better pace themselves.
- Exam Techniques: We will emphasize essential exam techniques, such as how to approach different types of questions and eliminate incorrect answers, which can significantly enhance performance.
- Personalized Attention: With smaller class sizes, I can offer more personalized attention, addressing specific weaknesses and providing tailored support to each student.
- Consistency: Maintaining a study routine during the summer prevents the "summer slide" and keeps students in the learning mindset, ensuring they remain sharp and ready for the exam.
- Mock Tests: The end of the course includes mock tests tailored to the formats used by grammar schools such as Slough, Tiffin, Sutton, and Barnet. These mock tests provide invaluable practice in a realistic exam setting, helping students become familiar with the pressure and timing of the actual exams.
