Moving into Year 5 is an exciting milestone and marks the beginning of focused 11+ preparation. The summer holidays provide the perfect opportunity for children to strengthen their core skills, build confidence and develop positive learning habits before the new academic year begins.

Our Year 4 to Year 5 Summer Transition Course has been carefully designed to bridge the gap between Year 4 and Year 5, helping students make a smooth and confident transition into the next stage of their 11+ journey.

Delivered in small groups via live Zoom lessons, this interactive course provides a supportive learning environment where every child is encouraged to participate, ask questions and develop their confidence.

The course focuses on strengthening the core skills needed for Year 5 11+ preparation across:

• Reading Comprehension
• Vocabulary Development
• Creative Writing Skills
• Spelling, Punctuation & Grammar (SPaG)

• Core Number Skills
• Arithmetic
• Problem Solving
• Mathematical Reasoning

Students will be introduced to a range of reasoning question types to develop:

• Logical thinking
• Pattern recognition
• Problem-solving skills
• Spatial awareness
• Analytical reasoning
